Accounting Analyst
Kansas City Life Insurance Company, a recognized leader in the insurance industry, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our Controller department. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:
    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 2 years of financial accounting and reporting experience
  • Ability to participate in cross-functional initiatives and collaborate among numerous business relationships
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • High professional and ethical standards in the application of accounting principles and government regulations
  • Ability to be part of a team of motivated professionals and handle multiple tasks
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reconcile and balance cash general ledger accounts and record journal entries as assigned
  • Assist in the coordination, preparation, and reconciliation of various Accounting Operations and Treasury activities
  • Prepare financial statement analytics and variance analysis, as well as review and validate financial statements within defined parameters
  • Assist in the preparation of audit work papers and reports for management, internal and external audits, and regulatory examinations
  • Assist in the research of statutory and GAAP financial reporting requirements
  • Assist in the testing of financial internal controls
  • Contribute to the success of the Finance Division through the completion of special projects and directives as assigned.
