Kansas City Life Insurance Company, a recognized leader in the insurance industry, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our IT department. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:
    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience in systems administration or a related field.
  • Proficiency in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking, including an understanding of advanced network configurations, subnetting, and advanced network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with advanced virtualization technologies and management, including VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Hands-on experience with security implementations, including setting up and configuring firewalls, access controls, and advanced encryption techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain advanced server hardware configurations.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage more complex system issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience documenting procedures and system configurations.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure and application troubleshooting techniques.
  • Expertise in security protocols, including more advanced concepts like intrusion detection systems, secure network architectures, and advanced SSL configurations.
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute advanced system maintenance and problem resolution.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Lead hardware and software installation and upgrade projects.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, escalating complex issues.
  • Provide intermediate technical support and guidance to end users.
  • Maintain and update system documentation and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate in project planning and implementation.
  • Enforce and enhance security measures and compliance standards.
